詞匯講解：

mutiny 兵變，反抗，造反多為貶義
insurrection 起義；造反
rebellion 謀反，叛亂
revolt 反叛，反感
uprising 起義，升起
mutiny 指公開反抗合法權力，比如政府，又指下級對上級的反抗與不服從，比較多用于水手和士兵。
insurrenction 指突然爆發的使用暴力的反抗，指人民試圖推翻現在當權政府的行為。
rebellion 指對政府的公開反抗，尤指武裝反抗，對控制和權威的反抗。
revolt 指反抗當權者、否認當權者，違抗等。一般使用暴力行為。
uprising 指反抗強權的起義行為。褒義成分比較重。
mutiny 指反抗合法權力，尤其是軍人和水手的叛變、嘩變、兵變。動詞 mutiny against sb./sth.; 名詞既可為不可數名詞，也可為可數名詞。
insurrenction 指突然爆發的，尤其是使用暴力的，（部分）人民試圖推翻政府的行為。指叛亂這一動作時為不可數名詞；指叛亂這一事情時。
rebellion 指對政府的公開反抗，尤指武裝反抗，對控制和權威的反抗。不可數名詞反叛、造反；可數名詞反叛行為。
revolt 反抗當權者、否認當權者，違抗等。動詞常用詞組 revolt against sb./sth; revolt
against /at sth. 不可數名詞：叛亂、反叛；可數名詞：叛亂、反抗（等行為）。習語 in revolt 叛亂、反抗。
uprising 名詞。反抗強權。eg. an armed uprising：武裝起義

詞匯串記：

1. Axe（斧、削減）the tax on taxis. Wax（蜂蠟、增大）may relax the body.
削減出租車的稅費。蜂蠟可以使身體放松.

2. The man in mask（面具、掩飾、模糊）asked me for a task（任務、作業）; I let him put the basket on the desk in the dusk（黃昏）.
戴面具的人向我要任務,我讓他在黃昏時把籃子放到桌子上.

3. The lump（塊、腫塊、笨人、忍耐）jumped off the pump（水泵、抽吸）and bumped（凸起的）on the trumpet（喇叭）in the dump（傾倒、垃圾堆）.
傻大個跳下水泵撞到垃圾堆里的喇叭上。

4. On my request（請求）the conqueror（征服者）questioned the man who jumped the queue（隊列）.

5. They are arguing about the document（文檔、文獻、證明）of the monumental（有紀念意義、不朽的）instrument（手段、器具）.
他們在辯論關于那件不朽樂器的文獻.

難句解析：

1. This is a dangerous game: by the 100 percent of the evidence is in,it may be too late. With the risks obvious and growing,a prudent people would take out an insurance policy now.

【譯文】這是一個危險的游戲：等有了百分之百的證據，也許就太晚了。隨著風險越來越明顯并且越來越大，一個謹慎的民族現在應該準備一份保單了。

【析句】 by the 100 percent of the evidence is in實際上的意思是by the time when the 100 percent of the evidence is in，即by the time when we have the 100 percent of the evidence。

2. And since these messages have an agenda—to lure us to open our wallets— they make the very idea of happiness seem unreliable. “Celebrate!” commanded the ads for the arthritis drug Celebrex,before we found out it could increase the risk of heart attacks.
